Paper Notes is distributed under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, and redistribute the software in accordance with that license, which is included with the app.
Paper Notes is built on StickyEdges by Utsav Gupta, released under the MIT License. That copyright notice is retained alongside the Paper Notes notice.
Purchasing Paper Notes pays for the built app, its packaging, updates, and support. It does not change the license of the underlying source code.
Privacy
Paper Notes is local-first by design. The desktop app collects nothing:
- No account, no sign-up, no cloud.
- No telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting.
- The app makes no network calls. Your notes are stored in a plain JSON file on your own machine and never leave it.
This website
This site is static and sets no cookies and runs no analytics of its own. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may keep standard, aggregated server logs to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
Payments
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, acting as merchant of record. Dodo handles your payment details, taxes, and the delivery email; we never see or store your card information. Dodo's own privacy policy governs the checkout.

Terms of purchase
What you get
A one-time purchase of $1.99 buys the current Paper Notes app for Windows and macOS, for use on your own computers, plus free updates to the current line as they are released. No subscription, no renewals, no per-seat fees.
Delivery
After checkout, Dodo Payments emails your download links. The macOS build is unsigned for now, so macOS may ask you to confirm the first launch; the Windows build may show a SmartScreen notice until code signing is in place.
Refunds
If Paper Notes is not for you, email shashanktomar912@gmail.com within 14 days of purchase and you get a full refund, no questions asked.
Fair use
Please don't resell the paid installer as your own product or misrepresent its origin. The MIT-licensed code keeps its own freedoms; the branding, the site, and the build are not yours to pass off.
Warranty
Paper Notes is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any loss arising from its use. Keep your own backups of anything important — the app stores your notes in a single local file.
